If you are interested in finding an apartment for rent in the tropics, you might want to consider Playas Del Coco. It’s a small tourist town in the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica, on the north west Pacific coast. It’s located about a twenty minute drive from Liberia Airport, which has direct flights from various locations in Canada and United States.
I have lived in Cocomarindo Apartments in Playas Del Coco, Costa Rica since January 2009. I think it’s a great place to be! It’s one block from the ocean, a ten minute walk to downtown, it’s beside a supermarket, gym, internet cafe and two really good restaurants; French and Italian.
The apartments are all one and two bedrooms. They are all close to the same size as the one bedroom apartments have large kitchens. The two bedroom apartments have small kitchens but have the extra bedroom.
There are apartments for rent in Cocomarindo. Sometimes the owners use property management companies and sometimes they try to rent the apartments themselves. Many owners live in Canada or US so it’s difficult for them to manage it. So I offer to assist with rentals. I can also arrange for airport pickups.

My husband and I are currently in Jaco and looking to move to Playas del Coco. We are taking our electric cars there to rent. We just got back from there today and saw the lay of the land; we like it very much. We’d like to rent a 2/2 for under $600.00 month. We have considered perhaps seeing if we could become on-site property managers in exchange for housing. We have two small, well-behaved dogs. If you’ve any suggestions for us let us know.
